Christmas is already on the menu at City of Wolverhampton College with bookings now being taken for festive meals cooked by catering students.

Students studying for professional cookery and hospitality qualifications at the college’s Metro One campus, in the city centre, will be dishing up Christmas meals in the Academy training restaurant from November 28 until December 19.

The three-course lunch menu costs £15 per person and will be available on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the period, with three-course dinners for £20 served on Thursday evenings.

Diners can indulge in the traditional favourites of soup, roast turkey and Christmas pudding, or tuck-in to a range of delicious dishes including salmon and prawn rillettes or mushroom Wellington starters, main courses of Rioja-braised lamb shank or Thai-style hake, and festive fruit tarts or citrus-layered mousse for dessert.

Nicky Doherty, professional cookery tutor at the college, said: “Our Christmas meals are always very popular and working in the restaurant throughout December will give our students valuable experience of working in a popular city centre restaurant during what is the busiest time of year in the catering industry.”

The popular 42-seat restaurant has a fully-licensed bar and a large viewing window so diners can watch students at work in the kitchen.
