Leading Midland’s landlord, and Chamber Platinum Service member whg, have launched free courses to help families start 2019 by getting their finances in order.
The Cash Smart Credit Savvy course, run in partnership with Just Finance Black Country, aims to help people take control of their money.
The course is run over three sessions looking at how to save money on shopping and bills, credit, loans and debt and how to make a budget and stick to it. People can choose which sessions they wish to attend.
The workshops will be run from whg’s Hatherton Street office, Queens Lea in Willenhall and Catshill Road in Brownhills. Each session lasts two hours.
A free Universal Credit Savvy session is also delivered regularly, which gives advice on Universal Credit, how to prepare for it and where to receive support.
The Just Finance Foundation, through partnerships that include one with whg, has helped over 3,500 people across the UK to secure a better financial future since it launched in 2014. The organisation works locally and nationally through churches and other community groups, to increase the supply of fair and affordable finance and to empower people by building their financial capability.
Whg is one of the Midland’s leading landlords, currently housing over 40,000 people in around 21,000 properties. The company now has a presence in 18 local authorities across the Midlands and has won a number of awards in recent years, including being named in the top 50 landlords in the UK, coming in at number 13 in the prestigious Housing Top 50 Landlords 2018 roll of honour.
