Thursfields Julia WarrilowThursfields Solicitors is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for a charity that helps people with sight loss by holding a quiz night in the Black Country in March.

The leading Midlands law firm is inviting brainy teams from companies and organisations across the region to join its event from 6.30pm on Thursday 15th March at The Seven Stars, Gospel End Road, Sedgley.

All funds raised will go to the Beacon Centre charity, which helps people with sight loss to live fuller and more independent lives.

It costs £40 for each team of four to enter, a price that includes a buffet, and further funds will be raised with a raffle during the evening.

The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has already offered a top prize of four VIP tickets for the opening night of Thoroughly Modern Millie on Tuesday 26 June, which includes prosecco, nibbles, chocolates and waiter service.

Julia Warrilow, finance director at Thursfields, said: "We're delighted to be raising funds for Beacon, a charity which does marvellous work for people with sight loss in the Black Country.

"We're looking forward to a busy night with hopefully lots of teams having a wonderful time, stretching their brain cells and helping local people at the same time."

The Beacon Centre, which began life in 1875 as the Wolverhampton Society for the Blind, is based in Sedgley, providing support and advice to visually impaired people across the Black Country.

Peter Moody, awareness officer at the Beacon Centre, said: "We're really grateful to Thursfields for organising what's going to be a competitive but fun evening, raising money to help fund our services for people with sight loss."

Anyone interested in taking part in the quiz night should contact Pam Arrowsmith at Thursfields' Halesowen office at parrowsmith@thursfields.co.uk.
