The Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) is a local business survey conducted on a quarterly basis, the results of which are then compiled by the British Chambers of Commerce to form one of the largest independent economic business surveys in the UK. Please take part in our survey now and you could win free theatre tickets!

As the most authoritative national business confidence survey, and the first to be published in each quarter, the results of the QES are closely watched by both HM Treasury and the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, and help to inform decisions that impact upon interest rates and business policy. The survey itself has reliably anticipated the onset of the two recessions since the early 1990s before they began and continues to act as a reliable indicator of national and regional economic performance. The Black Country Chamber of Commerce uses the results of the survey to inform upon detailed economic performance and trends throughout the local region and beyond.

In essence, the QES is a clear example of how being part of a local Chamber of Commerce means you are part of something bigger. By having your say, you can shape how the Black Country is seen by policy makers and help us to balance the economy.

The survey itself is completely anonymous and will only take approximately 3 minutes to complete.

In addition, for Q4 2017, we are pleased to announce that we are partnering with the Black Country LEP in order to increase the reach of the survey and enhance the representation of the local business community on a national scale.
