The Black Country Chamber of Commerce speaks to the Business Development Officer of Birmingham City University Business School.

In the latest Ready for 2024 interview, Jill Middleton, Business Development Officer at Birmingham City University Business School, says that she will be focusing on the delivery of the Business School’s business support programme.

Through Ready for 2024, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the companies looking forward to building success in 2024.

We are featuring member firms, ranging from start-ups to large companies, on the Chamber website and social media channels, to get their views on the opportunities ahead during the next year.

A Gold member of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham City University Business School offers support and expertise to small businesses wanting to grow.

From guidance on setting up a new business to management training, it offers workshops, courses, and student support to help improve long term productivity and sales.

What will your business be focusing upon in 2024?

We will be focusing on the delivery of our business support programmes and leading the West Midlands on innovation programmes. Alongside our vision to support entrepreneurship and apprenticeships.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

We would like to see the Black Country economy grow. We hope that we can help more Black Country businesses and increase awareness of the support we have available for them.

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

There is a huge number of small businesses in the Black Country, and we would like to increase our reach in this area. Helping businesses to survive and thrive.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

We are hoping to use our Chamber membership for networking, new business opportunities and work with partners sharing best practice.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

We are hoping that there is growth and that interest rates and inflation come down.
