The Black Country Chamber of Commerce speaks to the Area Director of Business and Commercial Banking for the Black Country for Lloyds Bank.

In another Ready for 2024 interview, Richard Jenkins, Area Director of Business and Commercial Banking for the Black Country for Lloyds Bank, outlines the bank’s plans to be “by the side of UK businesses” in the 12 months ahead.

Leading the Society on delivering against a purpose “to help people live better lives”, Richard hopes to see “collaboration across business, public enterprise, education and local representatives” in the region which he believes will be “vital to supporting meaningful and sustainable growth in the area”.

As 2024 gets going, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is celebrating member companies looking forward to building success.

What will your business be focussing upon in 2024?

To continue our strong track-record of being by the side of UK businesses, supporting SMEs with their short, medium and longer term growth strategies through offering multi-channel financing and risk management solutions.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

We will continue to support SMEs across the Black Country, helping businesses meet the challenges of operating their businesses day-to-day through offering bespoke solutions to them.

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

The Black Country is a hugely innovative and creative place to start-up, grow or to relocate a business. It has a huge pool of talented and skilled workers, supported by strong educational and vocational training suppliers and superb supply chains.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

We use our Platinum Membership to support both the Chamber and the wider Black Country economy, offering support to SMEs throughout the region.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

The bank looks to continue its mission to shape finance as a force for good in 2024, with the UK continuing to face into inflationary and interest rate fluctuations.
