At the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, (15th - 21st May), the Black Country Chamber of Commerce has announced that it has chosen the Dudley based charity, Black Country Mental Health, to support over the coming year.

The charity, which works to improve, promote and enhance a better quality of life for people living across the Black Country affected by poor mental health, offers a range of services to help people better manage and improve their mental health and wellbeing, including online support, training and activities.

Sarah Moorhouse, Black Country Chamber CEO said, “Mental health is a hugely important part of all of our lives and a cause close to the hearts of many of our team here.

“We were inspired to hear of the amazing work carried out by the charity, which also has the support of many of our members, so by partnering with Black Country Mental Health, we hope to raise awareness of mental health issues and extend this crucial support service within our local community.”

The charity’s Chief Executive, Sandra Vaughan, who herself has over thirty years-experience working in the mental health field said, “We are delighted and extremely grateful to have been chosen as the Chambers charity of the year for 2023/24.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Chamber team, not only to fundraise and raise awareness, but also to partner with other key organisations in order to make a difference in our local community.

"We are excited to work together to make a difference within our region and the surrounding area.”
