Chamber CEO Named Vice Chair of West Midlands Business Forum

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO, Sarah Moorhouse has been named Vice Chair of the West Midlands Business Insights Forum.

The Forum, Chaired by West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street, includes some of the most senior business leaders from across the West Midlands and provides a platform to explore topics of interest and concern to the business community in the region.

“This Forum helps to drive and advise on interventions affecting business, giving us the opportunity to widen the discussions with government, enabling us to work together to co-design the support mechanisms and ensure that a business voice is a key part of the West Midlands Combined Authority decision making,” said Mrs Moorhouse, “so I am delighted to be asked to Vice Chair this incredibly important group.

“This cohesive approach will ensure our Black Country firms have a voice in the arena which is vital for both our economy and future prosperity. By utilising the combined expertise of business organisations, including the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, Make UK, Federation of Small Businesses, West Midlands’ universities and other representative organisations, the Forum works to identify interventions on the major issues that the government faces, and by working in non-partisan, cross sectoral and intra-regional working group, high on its agenda is to investigate, co-design and lobby on behalf of the West Midlands region. Sarah continued.

“Promoting the region at the highest level and working together to ensure we have a collective message aimed at key decision makers in government cannot be underestimated and I am relishing the opportunity to shout up for the region and the future of our business communities.”
