Kind-hearted colleagues from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce have donated food and essential supplies

Kind-hearted colleagues from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce have donated food and essential supplies to a local food bank supporting families in need over the Christmas period.

Chamber colleagues donated nine bags of cereal, canned food, milk, hot chocolate, and toiletries to the Black Country Foodbank as part of their annual festive appeal, along with a funds donation.

The Black Country Foodbank helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of an emergency food and toiletry parcel, whilst a longer-term solution is developed.

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to promote and meet the needs of business and industry across the Black Country and to help create the best community in which to live, work and do business.

The collection builds upon the Chamber’s vision to create a vibrant, local community with a focus on social impact through Chamber activities.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Moorhouse commented: “More people than ever before are turning to food banks for emergency support with Christmas putting a huge strain on demand.

“As an organisation that strives to support communities in the Black Country, we wanted to help make a difference and organise a collection for the Black Country Foodbank to ensure that families in need have food and essential items over the cold, Christmas period.

“We are thrilled to be able to donate to such a worthy cause and hope that the donation provides the charity with the boost it needs during this busy time.”

Black Country Foodbank added: “We are so grateful for this donation from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce. This could not have come at a better time, as we are experiencing an unprecedented level of demand for emergency food and toiletry parcels. “This donation will allow us to continue providing support to everyone who needs food and essential items during these difficult times.”
