Patron members of Chambers of Commerce based across the West Midlands got to go behind the scenes at Wolves at an event organised by Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

The West Midlands Regional Chamber Patron Event saw members of four neighbouring Chambers visit Molineux Stadium to network and tour the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC on Thursday.

More than 50 visitors with premium membership of the Coventry & Warwickshire, Hereford & Worcestershire, Shropshire and Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce joined their Black Country Chamber of Commerce counterparts to meet and go on a tour with Wolves staff.

The guests had the chance to trace the Premier League club’s story from its origins in 1877 to the modern Fosun era with a guided visit of the Wolves Museum, seeing up close the memorabilia and history, which covers the highs and the lows of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The visitors were then taken on the Molineux Stadium Tour, with highlights including a chance to look around the first team changing room and the visitor changing room as well as the opportunity to walk through the player’s tunnel and a chance to go pitch side.

The Patrons group went into the Director’s box, the Chairman’s Lounge and even had photos taken in manager Gary O’Neil’s hot seat in the press conference room, before enjoying a lunch.

Carl Jones, director of Shropshire Business, a patron of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, was among those to savour the experience. He said: "It was superb to connect with fellow Chamber members from across the region at Molineux, which provided the perfect setting to connect with likeminded business colleagues and build valuable links.

“Being a Chamber Patron member opens doors to unique experiences like this, so it was fantastic to be part of such a supportive business event."

Gail Arnold, Head of Premium Membership at Black Country Chamber of Commerce, who organised the event, said:

“Patron members benefit from unrivalled opportunities to connect and meet like-minded businesses, so the Regional Chamber Patron Event is the perfect opportunity to experience a premium networking visit.

“As Chambers we come together to provide innovative and engaging ways for Patrons to link up with their counterparts for a memorable visit with fellow professionals, who all want to see the region do well and build on its heritage.”

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Moorhouse said:

“The Chamber's commitment to providing high quality networking experiences for premium members drives us to take Patrons away from business settings to meet in difference places which are stimulating and enjoyable.

“Many thanks to our hosts at Wolves who ensured our guests, even those who support rival clubs, were able to have an enjoyable time and see behind the scenes of one of the Black Country’s most famous brands.”
