Food, Fun, Feathers and Fundraising

Businesswomen from across the Black Country Chamber of Commerce joined forces yesterday, (22nd June) to enjoy a Royal Ascot Ladies Day fundraising event at The Fairlawns Hotel in Walsall.

The first racing event for the Chamber’s Women in Leadership initiative, kicked off with a Pimm’s reception on the terrace of the stunning hotel and spa, followed by an afternoon of fun, food, networking and fundraising for the Chamber’s chosen charity, Black Country Mental Health.

Vibrant, celebratory and steeped in tradition – the third day of Royal Ascot, colloquially known as ‘Ladies Day’ has always been a day to see and be seen and it was certainly a glorious occasion, with high fashion and millinery masterpieces taking centre stage, alongside the fabulous frocks at the Black Country event where over £420 was raised for the Chamber’s chosen charity.

Success Without Sacrifice - How to Progress in Your Career Without Sacrificing Your Wellbeing Along the Way

To mark World Mental Health Day, Black Country Women in Leadership invite you to join us at the Waterfront offices of award-winning law firm Higgs LLP to hear from Global Leadership Wellbeing Solutions® practitioner, Nicky Lowe, Founder and CEO of The Luminate Group.

Join us for a light, healthy and fatigue beating buffet lunch before we hear from Nicky who will share with us the latest research on the gender wellbeing gap, help us to understand how we can all strive for success in our careers without making sacrifices and show us how we can progress in our chosen career without sacrificing our wellbeing along the way.

This event is for female leaders with drive and ambition in their career, but who also want a fulfilling and healthy personal life.

Professional women are more burnt out than ever, and we’re under more pressure to try and navigate our careers whilst having a thriving life outside of work than at any time in history.
