Hats At the Ready for the Chamber’s Businesswomen

Businesswomen from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce are getting ready for their Royal Ascot Ladies Day event at The Fairlawns Hotel in Walsall next week, the first racing event for the Chamber’s Women in Leadership initiative.

Under starters orders, with a Pimm’s reception from 1.30pm at the stunning hotel and spa venue, the event offers an afternoon of fun, food, networking and fundraising for the Chamber’s chosen charity, Black Country Mental Health, on Thursday 22nd June.

Vibrant, celebratory and steeped in tradition – the third day of Royal Ascot, colloquially known as ‘Ladies Day’ is a day to see and be seen. It is a glorious occasion, when high fashion and millinery masterpieces take centre stage alongside flat racing’s most elite stayers locking horns in the historic Gold Cup.

So, joined by members and non-members from across the region, Black Country businesswomen will don their fabulous frocks, hats and fascinators, and spend the afternoon over a sumptuous afternoon tea in the newly refurbished Willow and Orchard Room for live streaming of the glamorous event.

With the first race at 2.30pm, afternoon tea will be served at 3pm, and include a selection of sumptuous sandwiches with lots of sweet and savoury offerings, freshly baked scones, lashings of clotted cream and a selection of Fairlawns’ seasonal homemade miniature desserts with tea and coffee.

And, whilst the event is not just for the ladies, it’s synonymous with fashion so the Chamber are encouraging guests to dress up to the nines with super prizes planned for the best hat.
