Leading Lawyers to Join Line Up for International Women’s Day

Black Country Women in Leadership have today announced further speakers for their International Women’s Day event which will take place on Wednesday 8th March.

Leading lawyers, Matt Dudley, a partner in the dispute resolution team and Rhian Gray, partner in the family team at Higgs LLP, will join multi-award-winning creative entrepreneur, publicity coach, personal brand strategist and TV commentator, Dr Tru Powell at the afternoon event which will focus on Reputation Matters.

The event, aimed at business leaders, entrepreneurs and senior professionals, will cover everything from identifying, defining and promoting your own personal brand, as well as how to become a person of influence in your business sector, right through to what to do when your reputation is damaged by adverse media coverage or significantly harmed across social media platforms.

There will be a legal insight into the action of defamation and what rights and remedies it involves, a look at what reputation management is all about, and what can be done when your reputation and brand image may not be what it seems.

The event will take place between 2pm and 5pm in The Atrium at the offices of Higgs LLP near Merry Hill, Dudley.

Black Country Chamber CEO Sarah Moorhouse said, “This event is a must for anyone in business, an excellent reputation is essential for any business and the individuals within it, the afternoon will give a good perspective for anyone looking to understand the impact of their efforts and how to make informed decisions about how to build, promote, manage and protect their reputation.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Chamber member, Higgs, for kindly hosting and supporting our event this year, and of course our four business partners, banking giant HSBC UK, international infrastructure group Balfour Beatty, Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) and international leading patent and trademark attorneys Forresters, who work closely with us to help support, educate and elevate women in the business community, which enables us to profile some of the region’s leading businesswomen and inspire the next generation of female leaders and entrepreneurs.

“Our women in leadership events are incredibly popular and I’d encourage anyone wishing to attend to book early.”
