Merry Hill and Walsall College have renewed their Black Country Chamber of Commerce Patron Group memberships.

Black Country Chamber Patron Group members work as key strategic partners alongside the Chamber, benefitting from unrivalled opportunities to promote their business, reach new customers and make connections.

Merry Hill, one of the UK’s top ten retail and leisure destinations, recently reported a landmark 2023 with over 30 new brands joining the scheme, including Hollywood Bowl, Nike, Wagamama and Ask Italian, as the centre’s leisure offering continued to grow.

Merry Hill General Manager Jon Poole commented: “Merry Hill is proud to renew its Black Country Chamber of Commerce Patron membership for the third year in a row.

“As a successful retail destination we have forged strong links in the West Midlands and enjoy collaborating closely with the business community and other Chamber members.

"We believe that collaboration is key to maximising opportunities and ensuring that our local communities continue to thrive.”

Walsall College is one of the most successful colleges in the country, offering vocational technical qualifications, apprenticeships and higher education programmes to more than 11,000 people each year.

Walsall College Assistant Principal James Norris said: “As a Chamber patron, Walsall College has been able to work closely with employers in the Black Country to understand their challenges and the skills needed in their future workforces.

“This has played a key role in helping us to develop the courses and training solutions that will provide them with skilled employees of the future.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the Chamber’s network of local employers to share knowledge, support enterprise and deliver industry placements for our students.”

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is the leading business support agency for firms based within or doing business across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce Head of Premium Membership Gail Arnold commented: “It is an honour to work with the teams at Merry Hill and Walsall College, which both play incredible roles in the local community.

“Chamber membership provides organisations with fantastic opportunities to connect with others and raise their profile. We work with each of our Patron members to create a bespoke package of support to ensure both value for their organisation and the wider business community.

“Our Patron members play a vital role in helping us better understand the pulse of the region and in influencing decisions that affect it, so we really value their support.” The Black Country Chamber of Commerce runs various member groups to support its mission to promote and meet the needs of business and industry across the Black Country and to help create the best community in which to live, work and do business.
