Merry Hill’s visitors can now enjoy the return of a much-missed service at the centre.

The centre has welcomed the arrival of Simplelife Mobility who provide a wide range of mobility aids for hire and sale.

Simplelife Mobility at Merry Hill offers mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and walking aids for hire and use within the centre.

The store is also stocked with over 6,000 mobility equipment products available for purchase including walkers, riser recliner chairs and a range of bedroom and bathroom aids, offering support for those who need it.

As well as having all the latest mobility aids on display, there is an area in the store for visitors to test the products and experience the freedom and benefits they can bring, as well as service and repair support for products.

The mobility specialists are now conveniently operating in the same location as Merry Hill’s previous mobility service, on the Upper Mall next to Primark.

This means it’s easily accessible as one of the first stores visitors will see when entering the centre from the P7 cinema car park. T

he new Simplelife Mobility store has created seven new jobs in the local economy and hopes to expand its team further soon.

It builds on from the centre’s ongoing community focused activity, including being the first major employer in the Dudley area to work with Dudley College to host a Supported Internship Programme, and the opening of Youth Stop which provides NHS mental health support, counselling, mentoring and practical support for young people.

Merry Hill visitors have already benefited from the service, which has been warmly received.

Reviews of the service so far have shone a light on the importance of the store at the centre and the positive impact it’s having for visitors.

One customer shared her experience,

“Wonderful, friendly staff. Really helpful service, so underrated, but so necessary. I wouldn’t be able to get Nan around without it. Thank you.”

While another mentioned that,

“Customer service was brilliant. Wouldn’t be able to do all my shopping without the help of a scooter.”

And a third noted, “Hired a scooter. Friendly staff, clean scooter, what a bargain. I will be back to hire again.”

Wayne Bennett, Managing Director of Simplelife Mobility said:

“We’re determined to make accessing the mobility products you need as simple as possible, offering a huge range of affordable mobility and living aids for all requirements. We’re proud to be providing a service that will be appreciated by Merry Hill shoppers, the local community in Dudley, and those further afield.”

Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at Merry Hill added:

“Our community is very important to us, and we’ve been working hard for many months to bring this service back to the centre. We’re always seeking ways to ensure we’re creating the best possible experience for our visitors.

“Simplelife Mobility is a brand that reflects our community focus and offers an important service that will improve people’s time at the centre, as well as provide a convenient place to purchase mobility equipment. We’re proud that through Simplelife Mobility we can ensure our visitors with mobility requirements can remain independent while they’re out and about.

“The availability of wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walkers mean there’s no limit to what they can do at the centre, from enjoying the shopping available across the centre, to meeting friends and family for a meal or coffee at one of our many cafes and restaurants. We can’t wait to see how much this benefits the local community.”
