Thanks to their unwavering commitment to their local community, their customers, and their team, a Wolverhampton-based not-for-profit has been honoured with a prestigious national award.

Health Cash Plan provider, Paycare, has been awarded the Most Positive Impact / CSR accolade in the 2024 Small Business Awards. Recognising the positive impact the organisation has made through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, and the contributions to its community, environment, and stakeholders.

Paycare’s CEO, Anthony Burns, said: “2024 is set to be a huge year for us as we’re celebrating our 150 th year in business. And so it’s fantastic to kick-start such a monumental milestone by being recognised in this way.”

Since 1874, Paycare has been helping businesses, individuals and families protect themselves against the cost of everyday healthcare.

“We’re proud to have altruism at our absolute core – we reinvest money from premiums back into the business, and every spare penny not spent on enhancing services is donated to worthwhile causes,” Ant continued. “To date, we’ve raised over £2.5million through various initiatives which has been distributed to good causes and charities both locally and nationwide.

“We wholeheartedly encourage and support the team to give back to our communities in ways which mean the most to them. We launched our MyGiving scheme in 2019 which provides every member of the team with a £250 fund which can either be directly contributed to a charity or cause, or used to kick-start a wider fundraising campaign.

And, everyone has two paid days off each year to volunteer at community groups of their choosing – providing them with the opportunity to not only support those in need, but to do something that brings them a real sense of fulfilment.

“We also focus on ensuring all of our employees are happy, healthy, and well by providing a nurturing, supportive and flexible working environment. And each team member is gifted two dedicated Wellbeing Days every year to use doing something that brings them enjoyment, emotional and mental positivity, and – most importantly - happiness.”

The Small Business Awards showcase organisations who are continually shaping the future of the UK’s business landscape. They recognise those making remarkable strides in displaying dedication, perseverance and commitment to excellence, and serve as inspiration for entrepreneurs, innovators and company owners nationwide.

Ant concluded: “While we do all this because we genuinely care and want to truly make a difference, it’s incredibly humbling to have been recognised in these national awards. It’s thanks to our brilliant team, customers, partners, and wider communities that we’re able to achieve such success, and long may it continue!”

Proud to be celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Paycare supports the health and happiness of the UK through a range of Health Cash Plans designed to ease financial pressure and promote a proactive approach to wellbeing, with options available for both individuals and organisations.
