How to thank a customer
Over the short time of running the business, I've looked at different ways of how to increase retention. The thought came to my mind "people are more comfortable when they are with someone they know".
Think back to school, when the teacher would come in and create a seating plan, you'd have to sit next to someone you didn't know and it felt awkward at first.
It takes massive amount of courage to enter a new enviroment for the first time and coming into a martial arts club where a lot of people tend to think it's quite aggressive and you're going to get hurt can put off a lot of people.
I've came to the idea of "Spin the wheel". The way this works, you'd give your new customers a referal card, they'd then give it to one of their friends. If their friend comes in and joins up, the person that did the recommendation would spin the wheel and win something for free.
So not only is the customer winning, the club is winning too with a new member!
