Watch our short video to learn more about how Tony found work via the Serco Restart Scheme.

The Restart Scheme is part of the Government’s wider ‘Plan for Jobs’ programmes to help people develop their skills so they can find long-term meaningful employment. Serco delivers the Restart Scheme in West Central England on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Serco also operates the West Midlands Cycle Hire Scheme (WMCH) on behalf of Transport for West Midlands. The scheme’s bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters are available across the West Midlands in each of the seven cities and towns, and they are a quick and easy way to travel around the region.

Recognising the potential opportunities for jobs on other contracts, Serco’s Restart Scheme Employer Engagement team approached Logan Gray, Contract Manager for WMCH, offering pre-screened job candidates from the Restart Scheme in West Central as potential new hires.

WMCH hired 3 Participants in 2023. Watch Tony’s story (below), a Redistribution Driver on WMCH: https://youtu.be/2nITecwNtjE

The Serco Restart Scheme has also worked with a number of employers including the NHS, One Beyond and Starling Bank to fill vacancies.
