We are delighted to announce that we recently recruited six trainees across our Birmingham, London and Munich offices, as part of our commitment to developing talent and expertise for the future.

We are delighted to announce that we recently recruited six trainees across our Birmingham, London and Munich offices, as part of our commitment to developing talent and expertise for the future.

Joining the firm are Jacob Tyszka, Benjamin Page, Elliot Farrell, Timothy Bone, Niama Knapp and Katarina Stefkova.

In our Birmingham office, Jacob Tyszka and Benjamin Page have both joined the technology and engineering team. Jacob graduated from Imperial College London back in 2015, having read Materials Science & Engineering. Prior to joining Forresters, Jacob spent five years working at British Steel, and he says that Forresters’ “Clear Direction” ethos particularly resonates with him. “In my time in industry, I found that distilling complex information into key ideas and straightforward solutions greatly helped the odds of a successful project, something that I will carry over to my work with clients and colleagues at Forresters. I’m looking forward to becoming a fully qualified patent attorney and to learning about a wider variety of new technologies.”

Benjamin joins Forresters as a trainee patent attorney straight after completing a Master of Physics (with Honours) degree at the University of Warwick. He said: “A career in intellectual property, and specifically as a patent attorney, appealed to me because it allows me to apply my scientific understanding to a huge range of different technologies, factoring in both legal and commercial considerations. I was impressed by the firm's commitment to trainee development through a combination of in-house training, external courses, and real-world case work. While there is still some way to go before qualification, I am excited and motivated to begin my career as a patent attorney at one of Europe’s leading patent law firms.”

Elliot Farrell and Timothy Bone have both joined the technology and engineering team in our London office. Elliot graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has industry experience working across the medical device and aerospace sectors as a research and development engineer. Timothy graduated from Loughborough University in 2020 with a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and, prior to joining Forresters, spent several years working in the Aerospace industry.

In our Munich office, Niama Knapp and Katarina Stefkova have both joined the life sciences team. Niama holds a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Ghent, as well as an MSc in Advanced Pharmacology from the University of Strathclyde. Katarina graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class Master’s degree in Chemistry with Pharmacology, before going on to complete a PhD at Cardiff University.

We would like to wish each and every one of the new trainees a very warm welcome to Forresters and the best of luck as they embark on their professional careers with the firm.
