Another major property deal facilitated by Thursfields

The commercial property team at Thursfields Solicitors has helped a Birmingham business make a major move to Redditch on the back of the company’s biggest-ever contract win.

RCS Manufacturing Ltd has paid £2,862,500 for the freehold of the 54,496 sq ft unit at 18-19 Park Farm Industrial Estate, Crossgate Road, Redditch.

Established in 1981, RCS Manufacturing Ltd manufactures the ModuSec modular construction system, providing high security walls or complete enclosures from cabins to entire factories, working with partners Remtech across the UK, Europe and world markets.

The company, which has been based in Tyseley, Birmingham, also provides high tech solutions requiring blast and ballistic to a range of standards including the UK government’s CPNI standard for the protection of government assets, including data centres.

The business currently employs 20 staff, but managing director Ed Walden said that the move to bigger premises in Redditch in January will mean further jobs being created.

“The move to Redditch is a vital step for us, because it means that not only will we be able to handle big projects like our most recent major contract win, it will also enable us to move into other markets, such as modular housing.”

He said the new premises at Redditch would enable the business to expand, grow and provide greater delivery to clients.

He added: “The purchase itself became quite protracted and complex, with a number of moving parts, and we were very pleased with the work provided by Thursfields Solicitors to help guide us through the process.

“Our solicitor at Thursfields, Robert Pettigrew, was very proactive and always on hand to provide straightforward advice with what were becoming increasingly complicated negotiations, but with his help we got there in the end.”

Agents for the vendor were Darby Keye of Knowle and Prime Accountants advised RCS on tax issues.
