Regional law firm Thursfields has been named by Experian as one of the Midlands most active M&A legal advisers for 2023 in its latest MarketIQ rankings.

Thursfields’ top 10 ranking comes off the back of another busy year for the firm’s corporate team, which acted on a record number of M&A deals. Standout transactions included advising private equity funds and corporates on their buy-and-build strategies, owner-managers on the sale of their businesses, and domestic and international groups on a number of significant joint ventures and reorganisations.

Gareth Burge, Thursfields’ head of corporate, commented: “2023 was another fantastic year for the team and we are proud to feature in Experian’s round-up of the Midlands’ most active legal advisers. Despite Experian recording a dip in activity across the Midlands, we advised on more M&A deals than in any previous year and added a significant number of UK and overseas corporates and private equity investors to our client roster.”

2024 is set to be another year of growth for Thursfields’ corporate team, with new hires to the team and a healthy pipeline spanning deals in the manufacturing, professional services, healthcare, and events sectors.
