The Black Country Chamber of Commerce speaks to the Managing Director of TPSquared.

In another Ready for 2024 interview, Carolyn Smith, Managing Director of Wombourne-based creative marketing agency TPSquared, says she will be prioritising technology, innovation and sustainability as she aims to stay at the forefront of industry trends.

With 2024 under way, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is speaking to member companies looking forward to building success in 2024.

As part of Ready for 2024, we are featuring member firms, ranging from start-ups to large companies, on the Chamber website and social media channels to get their views on the opportunities ahead during the next year.

The positive mindset of businesses in the Black Country and their desire to support other local organisations has made Carolyn feel confident that the region will be a great place to do business in 2024.

What will your business be focussing upon in 2024?

In 2024, I will prioritise technology, innovation and sustainability, aiming to stay at the forefront of industry trends. Focusing on staff investment and development will be crucial to harnessing my team's potential, allowing TPSquared to expand our services.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

While there are several challenges ahead, including the difficulty in finding suitably skilled staff to support business growth and rising business costs, businesses seem to have a positive mindset to achieve great things. This is especially evident in the Black Country region, where we have secured a number of new clients for 2024. Local businesses seem to have a greater focus on supporting the local economy and are looking closer to home when selecting their suppliers and partners. This is what gives me the belief and confidence that the year ahead should be a positive one!

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

The region has secured significant investment in many areas, which poises it for economic growth in the coming 12 months. The region offers opportunities for collaboration and innovation, making it ideal for entrepreneurs and companies looking to thrive. There is lots of support available to help businesses thrive and grow, either through the Chamber or the local authority and other independent organisations.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

I plan to leverage my Chamber membership for networking opportunities, building new relationships and taking advantage of member services to enhance my business's overall growth and success. Additionally, I intend to utilise the Chamber's resources for marketing TPSquared and sharing industry best practices with my fellow members.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

I hope for a continued emphasis on innovation, sustainability and collaboration. Continued investment and business support will help increase confidence among businesses, encouraging sustained long-term growth. What does your company do?
