Truckman, the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of hardtops and 4x4 accessories, is aiming to continue the success of its apprenticeship programme with the recruitment of a new digital marketing apprentice.

Holly Ross, 18 from Kinver, joins the Dudley-based company after completing a BTEC in Business and joins the marketing team to support Truckman’s growing online retail and social media activity.

During the 16-month apprenticeship, which is delivered by Wolverhampton-based Skills Training UK, Holly will spend the majority of her time working at Truckman alongside a blend of online and classroom learning to help her gain her Level 3 qualification.

As part of her training, Holly will support Truckman’s digital promotions and marketing campaigns across online platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, while also producing materials for its extensive product range, such as e-newsletters and digital brochures.

Having been acquired by Australia-based vehicle accessory company ARB, Truckman has dramatically expanded its range of products for 4x4s and pick-up trucks as well as leisure equipment for camping and caravanning enthusiasts.

This has led to further investment in its e-retail capabilities as it expands its online sales business to accommodate its expanded product portfolio.

Holly follows in the footsteps of previous apprentice, Kian Wheatley who, upon completing his apprenticeship has been appointed as Marketing Assistant.

Holly Ross said: “I am really keen to put the knowledge I’ve learned at college to practical use, working as part of a team in a fast-moving business. The motor industry has really grown online in recent years and Truckman is very much part of driving that change. I am looking forward to learning on the job and making a contribution to the company’s success.”

This is a really exciting opportunity to apply my passion for social media and marketing to support the growth of Truckman and its product range. I am joining an experienced and talented team at Truckman, which will help me gain new skills and understanding of how a fast-moving business delivers effective marketing. At the same time, I think my social media knowledge will be of benefit to the business as I progress through my apprenticeship.”

Mike Wheeler, Executive Chairman of Truckman, said: “Our marketing team provides an essential function in our business, and we are keen to continue to invest in the future through apprenticeships to ensure it contains talented and skilled people. Kian has already proven to be a valuable asset to Truckman and we were delighted to offer him a permanent position once he completed his apprenticeship. We are confident that Holly can follow the same route as Kian as another enthusiastic and creative person within our marketing department.”
