In the latest Ready for 2024 interview, Andy Hackett, Dry Lining General Manager and Head of Marketing at voestalpine Metsec plc, says the leading cold roll forming company plans to be at the forefront of its sector in the year ahead.

As 2024 gets going, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is profiling a range of member businesses which are ready to deliver on their exciting plans during the 12 months ahead.

The company has ambitions to lead its industry on product governance and to be at the forefront of delivering on a decarbonisation agenda, as Andy explains.

What will your business be focussing upon in 2024?

We will be focussing on our drive to lead the industry in terms of product governance under the new Code for Construction Product Information, whilst also pushing through the changes on our Co2ntdown to zero decarbonisation agenda.

These strategies will forge profitable growth for the organisation.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

To see investment and growth in the heartland of the country.

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

The Black Country has and continues to be the dominant area for steel related industries. The skill set and attitude of the people has enabled voestalpine Metsec to grow over its 90 years and put us where we are now setting the agenda for the industry.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

We encourage our staff to participate to take full advantage of the networking and best practice forums. We find being a member adds real value to voestalpine Metsec.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

We are hoping for stability and investment from home and overseas in “UK plc”.

What does your company do?

We are a cold roll forming company for the construction industry. Cold roll forming consists of gradually and continuously forming a steel profile.
