The Black Country Chamber of Commerce speaks to the Managing Director of VOiD Applications.

Today’s Ready for 2024 interview features Chris Carter, Managing Director of digital agency VOiD Applications, which won the Excellence in Professional Services prize at 2023’s Black Country Chamber Business Awards.

Chris says that his main ambition for the 12 months ahead will be customer growth as he seeks to deliver more bespoke web and app solutions to businesses in the manufacturing sector.

As the region returns to work, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the companies looking forward to building success in 2024.

As part of Ready for 2024, we are profiling members who are ready to deliver on their exciting plans during the 12 months ahead.

Each day we are featuring member firms, ranging from start-ups to large companies, on the Chamber website and social media channels to get their views on the opportunities ahead during the next year.

Chris believes that the Black Country is a great place to be based because there are so many businesses here. He sees a wealth of opportunity for companies in his sector to collaborate through organisations like the Black Country Chamber and the Creative Chain, which is a network for creative and digital agencies in the Black Country.

What will your business be focussing upon in 2024?

The main focus for us will be customer growth. We would particularly like to develop more web and app solutions for customers in the manufacturing sector, who we have a strong track record with. We would like to deliver more webinars this year to help us win new leads and educate people on the importance of having a good website and great search engine optimisation. We are also starting a podcast that will talk about digital marketing.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

We hope to see the local economy grow and more companies keen to invest in their futures, as this will help drive business at agencies like ours. It would be great to see more local businesses coming together to support each other.

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

The Black Country is a great place because there are so many businesses here. Through organisations like the Black Country Chamber and the Creative Chain, which is a network for creative and digital agencies in the Black Country, people are starting to talk and collaborate more, rather than just see other businesses as competition, which is a positive thing.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

We will be using our Chamber membership to take advantage of networking opportunities that could help us win new business. The extensive list of organisations that hold Chamber membership is a great opportunity for us. We also hope to make the most of opportunities to market ourselves through the Chamber to other businesses in the area.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

Hopefully the UK economy will avoid a recession in 2024. It would be great to see the cost-of-living crisis ease, which would benefit everybody, and also to see interest rates come down.
