Walsall College is offering four new Apprenticeship Standards in engineering and manufacturing.

Walsall College is expanding its Apprenticeship training provision with the introduction of four new qualifications in the engineering and manufacturing sector.

Employers can now sign up their new and existing staff for a Level 2 furniture manufacturer, general welder, lean manufacturing operative or Level 3 maintenance and operations engineering Apprenticeship Standard.

Rachael Smith, Director of Faculty - Apprenticeships and Work-based Learning said: “Advanced Manufacturing, engineering and construction are key employment sectors in the West Midlands and these Apprenticeship Standards respond to local demand. In addition to training individuals for these occupations, each qualification focuses on the safety principles, quality, sustainability and operational efficiencies essential to an organisation’s success.

“We welcome the opportunity to support as many apprentices as we can in achieving their career and educational goals, while at the same time helping employers meet current and future skills needs.”
