Organisations from the across Walsall are coming together to develop a vision for the future of the Borough. More than 10,000 residents and businesses will be asked for their views about what they want Walsall to look like and be like in 2040 and beyond.

We are Walsall 2040 will provide a strategic framework for Walsall Council and its partners to prioritise resources and to develop shared ambitions for a Walsall that works for everyone.

We are Walsall 2040 will be shaped by the views, experiences, ideas and ambitions of those who live, work, visit and do business in the Borough.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, Deputy Leader of Walsall Council said: “We have big ambitions for Walsall’s future. Tens of millions of pounds have already been secured to transform the Borough over the next 15 to 20 years. We want Walsall in 2040 to be shaped by our residents, our children and young people, our businesses and by our communities. Next month we will be launching a major exercise to encourage thousands of people from across the Borough to have their say.”

Walsall has developed strong and productive partnerships between its public sector bodies and our private sector. We all recognise that creating a resilient and inclusive local economy is a key priority for the borough; with businesses playing a vital role in creating growth and employment opportunities.

Working closely with our local businesses has been key to gaining millions of pounds of investment across the borough in recent years – for example major transport projects like M6 Junction 10 and Town Deal projects in Bloxwich and Walsall.

We want the long-term aspirations of our business community to be reflected within We Are Walsall 2040. And our businesses will continue to be key partners in helping us to achieve those ambitions.

• What are your future plans for your business over the medium to long term?

• Do you feel able to realise that future vision by staying in Walsall? (In terms of skills needs, infrastructure investment, wider regeneration and connectivity?)

• What kind of place do you want Walsall to be in the future?
