The Black Country Chamber of Commerce speaks to the Sales & Partnerships Manager at West Midlands Trains.

In the latest Ready for 2024 interview, Sophie Gardner, Sales & Partnerships Manager, says West Midlands Trains will be focussing on passenger growth and enhancing the passenger experience.

Through Ready for 2024, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the companies looking forward to building success in 2024.

We are featuring member firms, ranging from start-ups to large companies, on the Chamber website and social media channels to get their views on the opportunities ahead during the next year. A Bronze member of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, West Midlands Trains operates both West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway services.

The company offers a range of products supporting discounted travel such as Student Season Tickets and Just Business, a free online business train travel booking platform.

What will your business be focussing upon in 2024?

This year we will be focussing on passenger growth, enhancing our passenger experience and fit-for-purpose travel products.

What are your hopes for the Black Country economy and its businesses in 2024?

We are hoping for positivity and growth.

Why will the Black Country be a great place to do business in the 12 months ahead?

The Black County as a region is well placed to tackle the economic challenges we face as we look forward to 2024.

What will you use your Chamber membership for in the year ahead?

We are hoping to use our Chamber membership to raise awareness of the investment we are making in our infrastructure and passenger benefits programme along with the suite of discounted travel products available to our passengers. We will also be looking at ways to promote our app, which sees passengers benefiting from no booking fees and also our Book it, Train it, Love it leisure campaign.

What do you hope will happen for the UK economy as a whole?

We hope to see growth across the economy as we see a fall in energy and goods price inflation, and we hope that interest rates have peaked.
