Degree apprentices and higher education work-based learners attended Walsall College's graduation ceremony

Walsall College’s work-based learners and degree-level apprentices came together to celebrate their continuous professional development success at a higher education awards ceremony.

The Class of 2022 included graduates from accounting, business administration and management.

James Norris, Assistant Principal for Commercial Development at the college said: “We are delighted so many of our work-based learners come together and celebrate their higher education achievements. Many of them gained first class honours and Distinction grade qualifications, something which is testament to the hard work and commitment they have shown towards their studies and job roles.”

He continued: “Skills remain at the heart of our region’s growth potential and prosperity. The newly acquired expertise these graduates are now bringing into these businesses is sure to have an impact and promote a wider culture of ongoing learning and development to futureproof businesses.

“We congratulate this year’s graduates and wish them and their employers every success in the future.”

An award for Higher Education Student of the Year was presented to Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship graduate, Ann Bills.

Commenting on her studies she said: “I have been in managerial roles for many years in the public sector, most recently with The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. I am now a Senior Specialist for Improvement with Black Country Integrated Care Board; a promotion I don’t believe I would have achieved without this qualification.

“This goes to show that your life and career is always full of possibilities and there are ways to keep on learning and growing that will support you, your colleagues and the organisation you represent.”
