The January Baggies Breakfast event will focus on the theme of Clean Air Zones and in particular the Birmingham CAZ which will impact businesses in the Black Country.

What will the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) mean for you and your business?

The Government expects Birmingham to be included in the cities introducing a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) from 2020. A Clean Air Zone (CAZ) is an area where targeted action is taken to improve air quality, in particular by discouraging the most polluting vehicles from entering the zone.  No vehicle is banned in the zone, but those which do not have clean enough engines will have to pay a daily charge if they travel within the area. It is expected that Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone will come into operation July 2020.

How will the CAZ effect you? If you drive within the zone operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year you could be charged to do so?

At the breakfast we will have speakers from Birmingham City Council - Brum Breathes and the Road Haulage Association to help review the impact of the CAZ on local businesses both in Birmingham and the Black Country. This is your opportunity to ask questions.

Speakers
Christopher Ashley - Head of Policy, Environment and Regulation, Road Haulage Association Ltd
Jemma Callow, Communications Manager- Brum Breathes - Birmingham City Council
Peter Edwards, Lead on Exemption Permits - Brum Breathes - Birmingham City Council
